09.01.09 E-Cognition Moves to WF5! A lot of nice upgrades are included in this latest update to Pro/ENGINEER. I'm liking what I see so far. This months Video Tutorial was produced in WF5. Check it out.
02.06.09 Video Tutorials Extended Though '09 Thanks in large part to your support, the PTCExpress Video Tip of the Month arrangement has been extended through '09. These short video tips on a variety of interesting and relevant topics have received fantastic reviews from the Pro/E community at large. Thank you for all your support and keep those topic requests comming!
03.01.08 Atomic Aquatics Releases New Line of Snorkels! Striking and unique, these new products complement their already highly acclaimed position in the market place. Skillfully navigating through the existing offerings, they have come up with some very innovative solutions. Developing the geometry for this project was really very exciting. New ideas are already on the horizon. Stay tuned.
01.01.08 Video Tutorials Now at No Charge! Another great year has come and gone. Thank you for visiting and supporting E-Cognition. Happy New Year! May your efforts be both challenging and rewarding. As of ‘08 all the E-Cognition Video Tutorials are now available at no charge. PTC has extended our agreement so I’l be producing the PTC Express Video Tips through ’08!
10.8.07 PTC Express Video Tips Now Available. PTC Express delivers important product information, tech tips, webcast invitations, and user stories to the PTC community. The last three Video Tips in the tech tips section have been produced by yours truly. I am on the hook for the next three as well. I have made them available for re-broadcast in their native resolution on the tutorials pages.
8.5.07 Video clips and website collateral - I've been contacted by PTC to produce the new videos in conjunction with the promotion of the upcoming release of the flagship product, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0. These videos highlight the new functionality added in this most recent release. It's very exciting to be involved with this product in this way.
4.5.07 Top Down Design – Weldment Assembly That was the task at Warren Truck and Trailer in Talco, Texas. Adding to their product line of Tractor Trailer 5th Wheels Warren wanted a Six foot High Lift. Starting from “blank screen”, based on an existing design a new and improved fully detailed weldment and assembly was developed in less than four days on-site. See new addition on the “Movie” tab.
2.6.07 Walking the Patent Mine Field Over the last couple of months a new project with Atomic Aquatics has pointed out, once again, how difficult "New" design can be. To round out their upcoming catalog, a new high-end snorkel is on the way. It seemed that every direction we turned there was some sort of prior art. The end result is looking good and should prove the result is worth the challenge. (Pictures coming soon, check the portfolio)
1.3.07 Happy New Year! Though there are no new Tutorials, there is a new addition to the Movies section. A fully parametric and associative weldment for an automotive lower control arm. Using a Master Model approach, all sheet metal components are individual and flattenable. Go have a look! I'm now moving to Wildfire 3.0, there are some pluses as well as minuses. So far, so good.
11.01.06 Good Use of Scan Data That is the focus for
this month. Sure, automatic surface creation from scan data is possible,
but for those who have done it you know that the results are somewhat
less then desirable. They are often mismatched, over-patched, and, worst
of all, non-modifiable. I've identified a discrete set of techniques
that yield a fully parametric surface set from Scan Data. Details upon
request.
10.01.06 Tremendous Response! There is now another
option to get pin-point ProE training and more and more people are finding
out. In the last month the FREE SAMPLE tutorial was hit over 60 times.
Check out the focused and fun approach to learning. From basics to advanced
functionality all aspects are touched on. I'm working new ones monthly.
Topic suggestions are welcome.
09.01.06 Now Available
As promised, my own brand of on Demand Video Tutorials are now
available. Now that the details of setting up a secure shopping
cart and place to post the files, not to mention the file format itself,
there should be more choices coming. By all means check out the Free
Sample on the Tutorials page. You'll get a feel for the flow and style
of these video clips. They are high quality, full motion video. I guarantee
you won't be bored. Check it out!
08.01.06 Video Tutorials
As I've traveled and visited through out the Pro/E community one of
the constant themes that comes up is the lack of "relevant"
training materials. Sure, there are tons of papers and books describing
the function of every mouse click and button press but, when it comes
to methods and techniques people ask, "Where can I learn what you
just did?" So, I'm producing short video tutorials on a variety
of subjects. They should be available soon.
07.1.06 Reverse Engineering
That is the theme of the latest project. Though I can't say much here
(top secret) it's all about taking dumb, fixed scan data and turning
into something that is close to live.
Atomic Aquatics has asked for updated images to complete
their new "Super Brochure". Look for new images in the portfolio.
06.1.06 Welcome to my new site! I've always thought
it to be a good idea, and now it's a reality.
POWERSKI As VP of Engineering it is always very exciting.
We are well into "Phase 300" and over 95% of the parts are
on there way. Of course we'll need 100% to make all 300.
